As little boys, we shuffled between multiple public housing units in Clearwater. Yet, our mom, a retired Bank of America pro, knew a different kind of wealth. Money talks were a constant at home, and by 15, my identical twin and I both had bank accounts. Our weekends held a special ritual: Mom would pile us into the car and take us on a journey to the high net worth neighborhoods of Clearwater Beach. Past the mansions lining the coast, she wasn’t just showing us fancy houses; she was planting the seeds of possibility.
